Timber Timbre – Creep On Creepin’ On

  • April 21, 2011

Canadian blues folk trio Timber Timbre follow-up their spectacular 2009 self-titled release with the suitably titled Creep On Creepin’ On. Singer-songwriter Taylor Kirk and band retain traces of folk and their heavy atmospheric style but darken the mood even further with deep vocals, haunting reverb and elements of raw soul, doo-wop, blues, and ghostly chamber pop. The ten tracks, which include three eerily distorted instrumental interludes, are well crafted with sparse yet highly structured arrangements. While mining the depths of darkness, Creep On Creepin’ On shows Timber Timbre as a band coming into their own. Check out the two tracks “Bad Ritual” and “Too Old To Die Young.” – Written by JFelton
