Titus Andronicus – The Monitor

  • October 16, 2010

The latest band to emerge as part of New Jersey’s rock revival, Titus Andronicus has a bit more of an edge than its Garden State compatriots. After releasing its much praised debut, The Airing of Grievances, in 2008, the band returns with a classic Jersey album in the guise of a concept album about the Civil War. The anger, fear, and determination that lead singer Patrick Stickles’ abrasive voice convey throughout the album portray a snapshot of what Craig Finn might have created had he grown up 10 years later. With heavy, drum-driven beats and literary lyrics, Titus Andronicus create a picture of the messy modern American moment. – Written by AWagner
