The XX – xx

  • October 16, 2010

London natives the XX rely on the electric chemistry that exists between Oliver Sim and Romy Croft, who share vocal responsibilities on the band’s self-titled debut album. Instead of relying on the sound of their instruments, the members of the XX rely on empty noise to help create their sparse, haunting sound. The album is slightly odd at first and may take a listen or two to process, but that is more a result of the XX taking measured musical chances that very few acts are right now and, for that matter, ever have. This band is worth keeping an eye on. – Written by AWagner
