Nashville-based Turbo Fruits follow up their 2009 full length, Echo Kid, with the EP, Get Up Get On Down. Led by former Be Your Own Pet frontman Jonas Stein, Turbo Fruits plays wild, juvenile garage rock with a lot of enthusiasm and sincerity. In fact, part of what I like about this band is their lack of cynicism and anger. Stein, sounding like a much rougher, cooler Julian Casablancas, keeps the subject matter light on tracks “I’m Not A Lady” and waxes nostalgic about home with “On The Road.” Get Up Get On Down is a fun EP with just enough spark to add a little mayhem to a humdrum workday. – Written by DBosket
